“Ni hao peng you”

“Hello friends”. We would like to thank you again for your generous contributions for the orphanage in FuShun City, China. Your kind donations enabled us to purchase computers, bedroom furniture, heavy duty washers and dryers, sewing machines, countless items of clothing and a large screen television for the children’s’ activity room.
“God has blessed us with friends who make this trip each year possible.”

Baby Gets Needed Surgery…..

While at the orphanage we were asked if we knew who might help a baby with clubbed feet and hands. After nearly six months and countless emails, the baby will be going to Beijing to be treated. The Philip Hayden Foundation which operates Shepherd’s Field near Beijing is instrumental in arranging the surgery and follow up care. www.chinaorphans.org. They have provided more that 3000 surgeries in the past ten years. This is evidence of God’s love and how he watches over and protects his children.

Shepherd’s Field Kids Having Fun……

Adopted This Year From The FuShun, China Orphanage

2008 Beijing Olympic Games For the Kids…

We thought it fitting to conduct Olympic Games for the older children with a parade with Chinese flags, a torch relay, hammer toss, races and more. Each child was presented with an Olympic medal and red ribbon. Even Bob ran in the torch relay. A great time was had by all.

Older Children at FuShun Learning English……

Orphans are normally looked down upon by Chinese society and are not afforded the same opportunities as non orphans. Speaking English is a means of getting ahead in China. More people in China are learning English than speak English throughout the world. Our guide, Maggie, has agreed to teach English at the orphanage. Fluent in English, Maggie goes each Sunday to teach the kids. Maggie tells us that the children are eager to learn and even the nannies attend. We are taking Chinese lessons here. Hopefully we will be able to speak to the kids in Chinese when we return in June.

Thank you for your kindness ……………….Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
